Our Windows and Mirrors residency at the International High School for Health Sciences, will take place during Spring 2026 and guide students in crafting and performing original monologues and poems rooted in their lived experiences. Through advanced acting techniques, poetic and narrative structure, staging decisions, and structured feedback, students refined personal stories that supported both academic writing and college essay development. Performances for peers fostered community, expanded students’ sense of agency, and deepened cross-grade connections. Students also explored directorial thinking and design choices that enhanced clarity and audience engagement, demonstrating mastery of upper-grade theatre benchmarks.
The program was supported by the DOE Arts Office Arts Partnership Grant, expanding access to arts learning for students with disabilities, English as a New Language learners, and general education students.
